Tawney Owl causing a flutter:

Great excitement last night at dusk:

Quietly watching five badgers when suddenly

there was a flutter of feathers and a Tawny Owl

landed in dead Elm outside window. Lucky I had camera

with right lens beside me  and managed a few shots in the almost dark.

Quality not brilliant but hey..going through that double glazing, one must not be finicky!

Both Tawneys and Barn owls hunt over my wildflower meadow, to my utter  pleasure and delight

I hear them often, disturbing my beauty sleep even ,  but rarely see them:

Tawny Owl, enhancing my evening , on dead Elm tree outside window.

  1. No, we must not be finicky – what a wonderful experience and wonderful shot too! You are so lucky to have such wildlife close by! And we were talking about owls a few posts ago – you ought to see if that Barn Owl has any favourite hunting routes and have a go at that too. Great stuff! Adrian
