  1. Oh my. This is such an important image. Just as important is getting these people’s testimonies capture on film/video. New generations lose touch with this devastating history. That personal connection is so important to cultural memory.

    • I met her through a friend who is doing an exhibition with photos and stories about established refugees and how they have enriched our life and the country. The woman above agreed to tell her story and have photos taken (I asked permission to use her photo on my blog), the whole evening was very moving as you can imagine.

      • Yes I certainly can imagine. There is a project I have ratting in my head in which I might look for holocaust survivors to speak to similarly.
