Rain
Finally after 6 weeks drought
some drops of rain on my patch
Some grasses are jumping for joy

others seem too far gone and need more of a deluge to perk up again.

I can’t remember ever wishing it to rain. It tried to rain several times – a few desultory drops – and I was talking to the sky: ‘come on, you can do it, try a little harder’. We had several days like that before finally we had a day of steady rain. And now it’s drying out again. That’s a beautiful image, Paula. Delicate and isolated by clever use of differential focus.

Well, we’ve had some respite – which I enjoyed immensely. But I gather that this weekend is going to be hot again, and I’ve heard long-range forecasts, which may not be right, but which in any case I don’t want to even think about. I’m longing for autumn chills, and mists!!!
