I sell collectibles and art online and often find the things I've found have hilarious and at times, dark stories to tell. It's thrilling for me to be creatively random, so always expect the unexpected in the things I share with you.

I love the sea in winter, sailing across the shore, desolated scenes, trusting they will change depending my hand directing the helm.

You make it look very beautiful – the man-made all of a kind, the natural, all of other kind.

Makes me remember the place where I grew up. Miles and miles away from the coast, storms and winds brought the sand inland, covering the soil of fields and pastures deep in sand. The sand heaths are still there, but generations of children, among them my mom and my grandmom when they were small, were sent out on schooldays to plant lyme-grass and pine trees to bind the sand. From the 1930s and on, the sanddrift has stopped. Haven’t thought about this for ages. Your picture made me remember.

Gorgeous! I once visited Eastbourne one cold winter in the fog, I walked down to the sea, which I could hear but not see, (must have been after nightfall) I remember walking past the deserted fairground, so spooky and creepy, I always treasured that memory!

This is a fascinating photograph, Paula. It looks like the aftermath of a bombing; the coarse texture enhances the effect.

What a dynamic image, Paula, and an intriguing contrast of subjects. Yes, rather bleak…
